Local Policing

This point falls in the Marylebone neighbourhood, covered by the Metropolitan Police.

Current local priorities

  • E-Scooter and illegal bike activity - Traffic Offences. S - To reduce the ASB caused by illegal scooters and similar vehicle offences. M - NPT will look at MetInsights and other data to identify reported offending patterns, cross referenced with local knowledge and public information to identify hot spots and frequent offenders. A - Meeting arranged with food delivery companies, to highlight the sometimes reckless riding of bikes, motorbikes and scooters by their drivers whilst delivering food. Days of action have been arranged to enforce the legislation around electric bikes. Educate riders and Seize where necessary. R - This issue has been raised by local BIDS, WCC and local residence, as a priority due to the criminality and ASB they cause. T - This will be reviewed 6 weekly, to monitor effectiveness.
  • Burglary Our officers will visit each and every victim of burglary in person, and offer crime prevention advice and reassurance. Each address will be 'cocooned' . We will share specific figures in relation to offenders charged with burglary offences at our private and public ward panel meetings.
  • Theft from Business: Our team will conduct plain clothes operations in shoplifting hotspots to target repeat offenders. We will work alongside our street security partners in order to share and build on intelligence and emerging trends. Intel share with BIDs to identify repeat victims and offenders. Use ASB legislation where appropriate to deter offenders. We want to offer support to independent businesses, which are effected by theft the most.

How to Read This

Designed for travel planning, not certainty.

  • Recent street-level incidents within the selected radius are weighted by category.
  • Violence, robbery, weapons and burglary carry higher weight than lower-severity categories.
  • A stable neighbourhood baseline from the official English Indices of Deprivation crime domain anchors the score.
  • Dense central visitor areas are normalized so footfall does not automatically imply danger.
  • Improving recent trend slightly lifts the score; a rising trend lowers it.
  • The score is indicative and based only on public recorded crime data, not a guarantee of personal safety.
